Kelly Cochran: Owning Her Voice and Turning Up the Volume
By Teresa Howes | Twine Featured Founder Interview
If there’s one thing Kelly Cochran is not here to do, it’s stay quiet. Known as The Loud Blonde, she’s a speaker, author, brand strategist, and unapologetic amplifier of women’s voices. Whether she’s telling a crowd to stand in their power, coaching clients on how to land the stage of their dreams, or just rocking a bold Insta reel, Kelly shows up with fierce honesty and even fiercer energy.
But The Loud Blonde wasn’t born overnight.
From Silenced to Spotlighted
In 2017, while leading a $2 million website redesign project in a San Diego tech company, Kelly was publicly humiliated by a male colleague in a packed conference room. He told her to sit down and shut up—and not a single person stood up for her. Months later, she was the one let go.
“That was the moment I said, ‘Never again.’ If I’m going to fight for my voice, it will be on my own terms.”
She built her first business, Pretty Tipsy, selling cheeky wine-themed merch, before realizing her purpose was bigger than t-shirts and puns. It was about helping women own their stories and turn their volume way up.
The Birth of The Loud Blonde
In 2018, Kelly officially launched The Loud Blonde, leaning into the very thing corporate America told her to tone down: her voice.
“I always thought being loud would repel people. It did the opposite. It attracted my people.”
She wrote a bestselling book (Loud: Silence Your Critics and Turn Up the Volume on Your Life), started her podcast (The Louder Hour, launching soon), and built a business helping coaches and consultants use their own stories to get on podcasts and stages.
Business with No Apologies
Today, Kelly runs a thriving brand with multiple revenue streams: speaking, coaching, book sales, and digital programs. Her latest launch, Six-Figure Story, teaches clients how to identify and leverage their most powerful life moments to build brands that convert.
“Everyone has a story that deserves to be heard. I’m here to help women own that story—and amplify it.”
What She Loves About Being Her Own Boss
One word: freedom.
“I plan my life around play. I bring my laptop to the airport and work from anywhere. Then I shut it down and hit the slopes with my girlfriends.”
Her work-life balance is fiercely protected. She believes in building a business that funds your life—not one that consumes it.
Real Talk: The Hard Stuff
Kelly doesn’t sugarcoat the challenges of entrepreneurship:
Inconsistent income: “Those weekly paychecks are golden handcuffs. But I’d rather build wealth than earn wages.”
Loneliness: “Entrepreneurship can be isolating. That’s why you have to build a community.”
Her advice? Hire coaches who’ve been where you want to go, and surround yourself with people who stretch your vision, not shrink it.
“Don’t take advice from people who’ve never done what you’re trying to do. Their fear will become yours.”
The Twine Connection
Kelly’s mission couldn’t be more aligned with Twine:
She helps women prosper through personal brand clarity and storytelling.
She inspires them to revel by creating lives filled with joy, travel, and freedom.
And she ensures they thrive by owning the mic and sharing their voice with the world.
“Women can solve the world’s problems—if they’re working in passion and on purpose.”
How You Can Support Kelly
“Connect me with great women. That’s it. I’m here to sherpa them up the mountain.”
Kelly’s building a louder world—one story, one stage, one bold brand at a time. And she wants you to join her. Whether you’re building your first brand or stepping onto your next stage, Kelly’s here to help you turn up the volume—and finally be heard. When you’re ready to turn your voice into your greatest asset, Kelly is here to help.
