Meet Sara Silberstang: Founder of Mind Body Love Yoga Studio

By Teresa Howes | Twine Featured Founder Interview

When you step into Mind Body Love Yoga Studio, you’re not just entering a space for movement—you’re entering a sanctuary for healing, breath, and community. That’s exactly what founder Sara Silberstang set out to create: not just another yoga studio, but a place where people can move through life’s challenges together.

“I wanted it to be more than just taking a yoga class and going home. I wanted a space where people felt like they had friends—where we could go through things as a community, not alone.”

Where It All Started

Sara’s wellness journey started with personal training, evolved through yoga, and deepened with certifications in breathwork and hypnosis. What she discovered along the way is what now fuels the foundation of her studio: the power of breath.

“You’re not going to start doing yoga poses in the grocery store when you’re feeling anxious. But you can breathe. That’s what makes breath the most accessible tool we have.”

A Complete Vibe

The environment at Mind Body Love reflects that intention—warm, calming, and designed with care. From hours spent perfecting the studio’s color palette to unexpected comforts like tea, chocolate, and cold aromatherapy towels in certain classes, every detail invites visitors to feel welcome, grounded, and supported.

Transitioning Into Being A Business Owner

Sara’s path to entrepreneurship wasn’t exactly planned. After a high-achieving career as a personal trainer in New York, she was suddenly let go from her job—an unexpected shift that catapulted her into business ownership.

“I went from 25 clients to 12, but I was making four times the money. That’s when I realized I didn’t need to grind so hard to make it work.”

She’s now brought that same intentionality to her latest chapter as a studio owner. While building a brand-new team of 20+ instructors and volunteers has brought its challenges, Sara’s commitment to transparency and human-centered leadership keeps her grounded.

“Everyone receives information differently. It’s been a learning curve, but I just want to make their jobs easier and create something we’re all proud of.”

Her goal isn’t just to run a smooth studio—it’s to build a culture of respect, transparency, and ease for everyone involved.

“I want my instructors to show up, plug in their music, and do what they do best—without the stress.”

Advice For A Younger Version of Sara

When asked what advice she’d give her younger self, Sara reflects on the power of pause.

“Respond instead of react. Don’t rush into solutions. Take a breath, gather all the information, and then move forward thoughtfully.”

What She’s Intentionally Creating Now

To grow the community before the calendar. With plans for member-only events, collaborations with local makers, and pop-up experiences that blend healing with creativity, Sara is more focused on connection than conversion. You can see how well her values vibe with those of Twine.

“The most unexpected thing people say is, ‘I didn’t think it would feel like this here.’ That’s the best compliment I could get.”

If you’re in San Diego, take a class, share the space, or partner with Sara on an event. Her mission is clear—and it’s infused in every breath of Mind Body Love.
