Meet Teresa Howes: From solopreneur to community builder to Help Women Prosper, Revel & Thrive Through Real Connection

By Teresa Howes | Twine Featured Founder Interview

After spending more than a decade building two passion-driven businesses, Teresa Howes came face-to-face with something she hadn’t anticipated: loneliness. Despite making an impact with her clients, Teresa found herself running out of energy, motivation, and connection—and eventually exited both businesses. That experience planted the seed for something new, Twine, an event based marketing platform to connect women in business with each other and conscious consumers.

The Inspiration Behind Twine

Teresa created Twine to fill a gap she—and countless other women—felt while navigating life as solopreneurs and small business owners. What she needed wasn’t another online course or digital download. She needed people. A sense of community. Consistent, in-person connection with other women who truly understood the highs, lows, and everything in between.

“I wanted to create what I wished had existed when I needed it most.”

Twine is that space—a vibrant, real-life community where women can come together not just to network, but to be seen, supported, and inspired. Whether you’re building a business or supporting women who are, Twine is designed to bring both sides of the community together through curated events that blend connection with growth.

Creating a Third Space

In a world of convenience and disconnection, Teresa believes we need to work harder than ever to protect real human connection.

“Virtual can be easy, but it can’t replace the magic of real human connection.”

With coffee meetups, happy hours, workshops, and creative collaborations, Twine creates a consistent “third space” for women—outside of home and work—where they can recharge, collaborate, and grow.

Lessons Learned

One of the biggest lessons Teresa has carried into her new business is the importance of collaboration and support. Even surrounded by clients, vendors, and employees, small business owners can  still feel alone when they are struggling to solve problems.

“You can be surrounded by people and still feel alone if you’re missing true collaboration.”

This time, she’s doing things differently—building Twine with an advisory board, strong peer relationships, and a mission that keeps her inspired.

Her Mission

At its heart, Twine is about helping women show up as themselves, connect with amazing women and find momentum through connection.

“I’m here to help women prosper, revel, and thrive—together.”

Whether you’re a creator building your business or a supporter looking to discover and uplift women-owned brands, Twine offers a meaningful way to connect in real life, build community, and make an impact.
